Creating a storage solution.

The Necess storage system is a unique solution to storing and managing essential daily items. By utilising a unique cleated frame the Necess system mounted on any household wall, invites interaction. When not in use, the system is a static artwork, utilising natural materials and minimalist details sure to suit any environment that it is presented within. Through the simple translation of cubes across the horizontal rails, Necess transitions into a functional form with pockets to store personal necessities of various sizes. Necess works to enhance the interaction of leaving the home, by gathering all essential items into one hub. This alleviates the trouble often experienced when rushing to find certain items upon leaving the home. A key consideration when designing Necess was to create a system that users would be comfortable and proud to present within their home. The unattractive storage stigma is gone with Necess being a bold representation of how storage can be functional, aesthetic and interactive. Thanks to Liam Burn, Emily Zhang, Danielle Patterson and Joseph Spijkerman for helping with ideation through to the construction and presentation of the project.
